Daniel J. McMullen, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 2, 2026.
Dan was born October 19, 1970 in Sheboygan, the son of Michael and Kathleen (Schleicher) McMullen. He grew up in Six Corners, and graduated from Oostburg High School in 1989. Since 1995, he worked at Bemis Manufacturing. He was a permanent fixture at Ace Hardware in Sheboygan Falls since 2017. A familiar face to many in Sheboygan Falls, Dan enjoyed working with the customers and helping them with projects.
He always had time to visit with friends, both new and old. He could talk to anyone. He enjoyed going to concerts, especially Alpine Valley, garage sales, and his yearly trip to auto auctions with his friend Terry. He was a car collector, and still has a Trans Am he owned since high school.
He would never miss the yearly deer hunting party at his uncle’s cottage in Goodman, where he looked forward to playing cards (which he won often).
In an act of generosity, Dan donated his eyes; may the recipient also see the world through rose colored lens.
Dan is survived by his parents Michael and Kathleen, siblings Matthew McMullen, Amy (John) Suttles and Peter (Tomo) McMullen; nephews and nieces (whom he loved to tease): Owen, Willie, Kai, Gabrielle (Otto), Eva and Mika; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Leo and Kathryn Schleicher and James and Isabel McMullen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Father Michael Lawinger officiating. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on Dan’s obituary page at wenigfh.com . The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 9:00AM-12:45PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
The family would like to thank the Sheboygan Falls Police Department, Fire Department and EMS as well as Father Michael Lawinger for their compassionate care and support.
Dan – May you rest in peace; we love and miss you.
