Daniel J. Michaels

Daniel J. Michaels, age 87, of Greene Twp., passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was born in Erie on April 15, 1934, son of the late John and Helen Michaels.

Daniel was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. He was employed for 37 years as a mechanical press operator at Kaiser Aluminum until his retirement in 1996, where he was known as the "Silver Fox" to his co-workers. Daniel loved his boat, the "Nan-C-Dan". He was the lead boat when several young men swan across the lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying his plane, and in his younger years, riding motorcycles. Once, while scuba diving, Daniel found a shipwreck in the Lake Erie. He was always known to have a project going.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy J. Michaels; three children, Kim Michaels, Mary Anderson (Mark), and Connie Myers; three grandchildren, Aaron Myers (Tara), Dana O'Sullivan (Marika), and Casey O'Sullivan (Kristin); five great-grandchildren, Avriel, Abel, Colton, Brayden and Zoey; and nieces and nephews, with a special thanks to Pat and Juan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Bosworth.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday from 3 to 6 pm. A closing prayer and Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571 will follow.
