Daniel Mickelson

Daniel Lee Mickelson, 61, passed away peacefully at his brother's home surrounded by his family on February 19, 2026.

He was born on March 20, 1964, in Manistique, Michigan, the son of Donald Lee Mickelson and Patricia (Schneider) Mickelson. Dan was a graduate of Manistique High School, Class of 1982.

For more than 30 years, Dan dedicated his career to the bowling industry, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike. Later, he worked preparing meals at Mancino's, where his friendly nature and dedication continued to touch those around him. His work was more than just a job, it was a community, and he took great pride in being part of it.

Outside of work, Dan had a deep love for sports and being at the cabin. Whether cheering on a favorite team, spending a quiet morning at the lake, or having a good time with friends and family, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. Always ready for a good time, he especially treasured the company of others and was happiest when surrounded by laughter and good conversation.

Known for his warm spirit and easygoing nature, Dan had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He enjoyed the company of many and built lasting friendships wherever he went. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dan is survived by his mother, Patricia Mickelson of Manistique; his son, Andrew (Lindsey) Mickelson of Wrightstown, Wisconsin; his brother, Doug (Kristie) Mickelson of Manistique; and his grandchildren, Alexis and Brayden. He is also survived by nephews, Josh (Emily) Mickelson and Gunnar (Angie Carley) Mickelson, and niece McKenzie (Corey Gonyea) Mickelson. Other nieces and nephews including Avalyn, Ella, Austin, Alix, Myla, and Duncan. As well as, many extended family members, and many close friends that Dan would consider family from both the Manistique and Fond du Lac communities.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Mickelson, and his grandparents, Barb and Ewald "Peewee" Mickelson, Anne and Leo "Tim" Schneider.

Visitation will be held at Fausett Family Funeral Home in Manistique on February 26, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 PM. Fr. Ben will officiate.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
