Rochester, NY, passed away on September 14, 2025 at age 56 at Unity Hospital after a yearlong battle with lung disease. He was born on May 11, 1969, in Rochester NY to the late Robert and Frieda (Church) Monahan.

Dan graduated from Greece Olympia High School in 1987, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Science degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Applied and Mathematical Statistics. He spent the majority of his career as a programmer analyst.

He is survived by his former wife, Andrea (Ennis) Monahan, two children, Carina and Connor Monahan, a sister, Kathleen (Walt) Hahn, and several other loving family members.

Dan was an avid sports fan, favoring the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He also loved fishing and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains. He will be greatly missed by his family. Oh, Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, we love you so!

Following Dan's death, he gave the gift of life by being an organ, eye, and tissue donor. In honor of his love for nature, the family requests any donations be made to The Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree in his memory.

Burial and celebration of life will be scheduled by the family at a later date.
