Daniel Edward Montz

Mr. Daniel Edward Montz, 71, of Oxford, Mississippi, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, on Sunday, January 14, 2024. There are no services planned at this time.
Son of Ruth Walker and Earl Labar Montz, Dan was born on July 10, 1952, in Harrisburg, PA.
Dan was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He met Carolyn Owens in 1970 and they wed three years later. Dan and Carolyn have one son, Joseph, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 9, 2023.
Daniel, a talented artist, founded the Coontown U.S.A. Pottery Studio. He loved the outdoors and all of its creatures, which was reflected in his unique ceramic art, pottery, paintings, and wood carvings.
Dan is survived by his wife, Carolyn Owens Montz of Oxford, MS; their son, Joseph Montz and his wife, Jessica, of Oxford, MS; grandchildren, Makayla and Adeline Montz; two brothers, James Montz and Earl Montz; and his nephew, Jeremiah Montz.
Dan was a generous and loving person and will be with his family for all of their days.
