Daniel Muddiman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 24, 2025.
Daniel Paul (Dan) Muddiman, beloved husband and father, age 77, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on October 17, 2025, of heart disease and cancer. He was born on April 29, 1948, in Meadville, PA, to Albert and Elizabeth Dietz Muddiman.

Dan was a graduate of Meadville High School, entering the U.S. Army Reserves in 1968. Being mechanical, Dan pursued a lifelong career in machining. He was employed by Channellock Tool, McCrosky Tool, Abex Corp., and lastly Mikron Tool of Cranesville, PA.

Dan had a lifelong love of camping, boating, and fishing. After retirement, he moved to Hawthorne of Leesburg in Leesburg, FL, with his wife, Karen. Here he discovered a new use for his machining skills: lapidary. Becoming a rock hound, he used his machining skills in a creative, fun way, cutting rocks and creating beautifully crafted jewelry and other items. He received great joy gifting his jewelry to family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Carrie Lynne; a brother, Charles Muddiman; and an infant sister.

Besides his wife, Karen (Amos) Muddiman, Dan is survived by three sons, Matthew Muddiman (Tonya) of Cochranton, PA, Scott Muddiman of Meadville, PA, Mark Muddiman (Jessica), and two grandchildren, Nora and Lincoln Muddiman, of Easley, S.C.

He is also survived by siblings John Muddiman, Jeannie Overmyer, Mary Ann Janos (Marty), Robert Muddiman, all of Meadville. He also is survived by a sister-in-law, Carla Muddiman (Charles), and brother-in-law, Gene Amos, of Stoneboro.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 21, 2025, in Leesburg, FL.

In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Arc Hospice, 700 N. Palmetto St. Suite 1, Leesburg, FL 32748, which provided tremendous support and comfort in Dan's care.
