Daniel Or, 54, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Atlanta, GA.
Daniel Or was born on May 25, 1969, in Hong Kong to Tsang-Kit Or and Chor-Kiu Chan.
Daniel graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor's in Computer Science in 1992. He went on to earn a Master's in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1994. He started his career as a computer programmer. He worked for a few different companies before going on to work for LeaseQuery for almost four years.
Daniel Or married Carol Liang in McDonough, Georgia. The couple had 2 children, Emily and Fiona.
Daniel was best known for his intelligence and persistence. He was a competitive swimmer in high school and won countless medals. Later in life, his intelligence and persistence could be seen in his dedication to his family and work. When he wasn't working, he could be found spending time with his wife and children.
In his free time, Daniel enjoyed jogging around the neighborhood, hiking by the Chattahoochee River, and swimming at the local gym. He also enjoyed treasure hunting at yard sales, listening to music, and watching movies and tv shows. Daniel was a kid at heart and liked to collect memorabilia of his favorite characters, e.g., Baby Yoda, Detective Conan, and Ultraman. Daniel loved traveling, and before Emily and Fiona were born, he and Carol would often travel together.
Daniel was a loving son, husband, brother, father, and uncle. He is survived by his parents, Tsang-Kit Or and Chor-Kiu Chan; beloved wife, Carol; siblings, Hung, Anita, and Kitty; daughters, Emily and Fiona; and nieces, Christine, Tiffany, Olivia, and Sophie.
The family will hold a memorial service on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Crowell Brothers Norcross Chapel, 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made in Daniel's name to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network – Research, Patient Support, Resources (pancan.org).
