Maria Tipaldos Hope, age 94 of Chamblee, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from complications due to dementia.

She was born in Lixouri Greece on the island of Kefalonia and lived in Athens Greece, briefly in New York and later moved to Brunswick GA.

She met her husband Homer "Clinton" Hope in Brunswick GA while working at her uncles' restaurant -Tipaldos Brother's. They were married and moved to Chamblee for Clinton to attend college.

Maria resided in Chamblee for 66 years where she attended church, volunteered, worked as a store manager and raised her family.

She was the daughter of Theogenes Konstantakatos -Typaldos and Athena Parisi Konstantakatos -Typaldos.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clinton Hope, her brothers, her uncles Tommy and Angelo Tipaldos and her cousin Patricia Helms.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Hope (Kay) and Tommy Hope (Paula); four grandchildren, Alisha Spivey (T J), Cassidy Carter (Tyler), Jordan Hope and Maggie Hope; one great granddaughter, Hallie Marie Spivey, sister-in-law Carolyn Boyett and her cousins Andy Tipaldos (Jan), and Diane Brooks (Tommy).

Funeral services for Maria will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation – Atlanta 2500 Clairmont Road, Atlanta GA 30329. The family will gather with friends beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at North Atlanta Memorial Park – 5188 Winters Chapel Road Atlanta GA, 30360.

We request that you please wear black or dark colored clothing while attending the Orthodox services.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation.
