Daniel Cary Overstreet, 62, of Brooklyn, passed away on Thursday, January 18th, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family. Dan was born on October 2,1961, in Staten Island, New York to parents Frances Ann and John Thomas Overstreet, Jr. Dan married the woman of his dreams, Lisa Fennell on October 19, 2002.
Dan served in the United States Army and retired after 20 years from Cardinal Health in Pasadena. He was active in the community in the Anne Arundel County 4-H Program and a lifetime volunteer the Anne Arundel County Fair, most recently as the Department Chair for their Farm & Garden Department. Dan’s passions included seeing movies, bicycling, backpacking, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Linthicum.
A devoted family man, Dan is survived his beloved wife of 21 years, Lisa; his siblings Rowina (Don), John (Jane), Tom (Ruth), Tim (Carol), Rob (Chris), and Rich (Jessica), and many cherished and much loved nieces and nephews, four beloved grand-nephews; and his best friend, Kevin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, Glen Burnie, on Thursday, Jan. 25th, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A memorial service will be held the following day, Friday, Jan. 26th, 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Linthicum, Pastor Scott Maxwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s name to St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090 or to the Anne Arundel County Fair, Inc., Attention: Sharon Gertz, PO Box 372, Crownsville, MD 21032.
