Daniel Robert Papini, a lifelong resident of Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away on August 3, 2025, in Wheeling at the age of 78.

Born on November 4, 1946, in Wheeling, Daniel-known to many as Dan--spent his life rooted in the Ohio Valley. He dedicated four decades of hard work as a craneman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, with most of those years spent at the Yorkville Plant. His reliability and good nature made him a valued co-worker.

Dan was a devoted husband to the late Linda Kay McDonald Papini and a cherished father to Danielle Papini and CJ Farnsworth. He shared a close bond with his son-in-law Tom Farnsworth and took great pride in his grandson Holden Farnsworth.

In addition, he is remembered with love by his sisters Darla Torbett (Bruce), Trudy Hickey (Bobby), and Kathy Papini, as well as by his nephew Brent Smith (Sharon). Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Anna May Norman Papini and Daniel Papini.

Outside of work and family, Dan found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed time on the green, a passionate foodie who appreciated good meals shared with others, and a lover of the blues whose musical tastes reflected both depth and soul.

Dan's legacy is one of quiet dedication--to his work, to those he loved, and to the things that brought him happiness. A private committal service is planned. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

Friends are invited to remember Dan at a luncheon held at Generations from 12 PM -2 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025.
