I don´t recall my first memory of Carlo. The memories I do have are far and few because I haven´t been in touch with the Papini family in over 20 years. We grew apart and life moved on. However, one memory I have of him dates back to when I was in grade school and he was my soccer coach. I was probably about 10 years old. We were at Teasdale park in Renton practicing. I was the goalie. One of the other kids kicked the ball towards me but it went wide of the goal and into some bushes. I ran to retrieve the ball out of the bushes not aware the bushes were swarming with bees. After I reached in and grabbed the ball, I turned around walking back to the goal when I heard buzzing and what felt like a hundred hot needles poking me in the lower part of my leg. I fell to the ground screaming and shrieking in pain.
(Step in Carlo)
Carlo scurried over to me, grabbed my arm, lifted me up and ran me away from the swarm of bees and carried me to my where parents were sitting. Then he went back and continued coaching the team.
After the practice, he came over to me to check on me to make sure I was doing ok. My leg was red and sore but mom said I´d survive(mom had a bee sting medicine she put on my leg to help it stop swelling).
RIP Coach Carlo

I was lucky to know Carlo for many many years...always upbeat and positive in his nature. His calm demeanor and sincerity made me happy to know him. As I get older, it hurts to lose quality people...we believe they will remain in our lives forever...this one hurt. Thank You Carlo for being one of the good guys. I will miss you.

The best memory I have of Carlo is when I came to Seattle and spent a lot of time with Carlo and his family. I really felt at home. Our whole family is very saddened by Carlo's death. A hug to Angela and the whole family.

Carlo was a smart, kind gentleman. He was well respected at Boeing where he helped so many, many leaders, over the years, by managing complex schedules. His retirement was well earned. Rest in peace, Carlo. We will never forget that beautiful smile.

What a gem of a guy! I will always remember Carlo's amazing smile and steadfast friendship. His work ethic was evident in his professional and personal life. Our regular get togethers, sharing a meal and discussing real estate, the stock market and family will be missed. All who knew Carlo, were blessed by the experience.

THE LOSS OF CARLO HAS BROKEN MY HEART TO ITS CORE. CARLO WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO ME. HE WAS ALWAYS EAGER TO DO PROJECTS WITH ME WHERE WE COULD WORK SIDE BY SIDE. CARLO ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE. SINCE THE PASSING OF MY WIFE CARLO MADE SURE HE CALLED ME AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK.
I WILL DEARLY MISS THE CALLS. YOU DON'T GET TO COME ACROSS PEOPLE LIKE THIS OFTEN IN LIFE THAT REALLY TOUCH YOUR HEART LIKE CARLO DID. I WILL CHERISH THE MEMORIES OF THE MANY CRUISES WE WENT ON TOGETHER AND THE TIME WE GOT TO SPEND TOGETHER IN MY PONTOON BOAT. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO ANGELA AND HER FAMILY. MISS AND LOVE YOU BROTHER CARLO ERNEST P. MCGIBBON
