DAVID JACK LOY

David Jack Loy, 70, of Wheeling, WV, and formerly of Moundsville, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Wheeling Hospital-WVU.

He was born in Glen Dale, WV, on September 7, 1955, the only son of the late Jack and Patty (Fogle) Loy.

David is survived by his wife, Donna (Mason Hudson) Loy. Meeting later in life, they may not have been each other's first love, but David and Donna were each other's last love.

Also surviving are his son, Joshua (Amanda) Loy of Ladson, SC; daughter, Deanna (Matthew) Williams; grandchildren, Claire and Credence Williams; and daughter, Donnel Loy, all of Benwood, WV; his sister, Ellen Jo (Loy)Merritt; nephew, Scott (Heather) Merritt; niece, Tracy Jo (Will) Marmet; and great nieces and nephews, Isaac, Leah, and Landon Merritt; and Rebekah, Jessi and Erik Marmet. Also surviving is Deborah Berisford (Loy), the mother of his children, of Benwood, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Deanna Jean Loy and brother in law, Richard Merritt.

David served in the US Air Force as a Special Investigator with OSI – Office of Special Investigations. His service and status as a veteran was a badge worn proudly throughout his life.

David first love was music, especially the guitar. Picking up his first guitar at age 5, he was lovingly taught to play by his Dad, Jack. David's newest music passion was the Blues.

John Mitchell of Queen Creek, AZ was David's best friend since their childhood growing up in Moundsville. David and John considered themselves blood brothers and never ended a phone call without "I love you, brother".

Honoring David's request, no services will be held.
