Daniel James Pelle

Daniel James Pelle, 76, of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, passed away on September 4, 2025, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Daniel was born on May 19, 1949, in Kit Carson, Colorado, to Donald and Joan Pelle. He grew up with strong family values and a determined spirit, graduating from Newell High School before beginning his lifelong journey of service, family, and community.

With a deep sense of duty, Daniel enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country in Vietnam. Following his military service, he built a respected career as a realtor and auctioneer, admired for his integrity, professionalism, and welcoming presence.

On August 4, 1988, Daniel married the love of his life, Becky Lynn Hutton, in front of Judge Diamond. Together they built a life full of love, countless stories and cherished memories.

Daniel believed in giving back to his community in every way he could. He served as a Little League baseball coach, was an active member of the Shriners, and participated in countless charitable efforts including Toys for Tots. His generosity and commitment to helping others touched countless lives.

Those who knew Daniel will remember him for his boundless passion for life, his unwavering dedication to family and friends, and his selfless heart. His passion for life was as fierce as his love for his family and friends.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Joan Pelle; his beloved wife, Becky Lynn Pelle; his daughter, Charity Pelle (Robert Newlander); his son, Terance Pelle (Shaunte Pierce); grandsons Landon Pelle (Kat), Benjamin Newlander, and Nathan Newlander; granddaughters Kaydence Pierce, Nova Pierce, and Peyton Newman; brothers Jim Pelle (Pam), Bill Pelle, and Ed Pelle (Becky); sisters Marge Card (Charlie) and Mary Kraus (Jim); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Special mentions go to Gwen Fritz, Frances Cleveland, and the entire Jack & Betty Smeenk family, whose friendship and support meant so much throughout Daniel's life.

He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will live on in the lives of those he loved and served.

An Open House Celebration of Life was held Thursday, September 11th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Branding Iron Steakhouse and Social Club in Belle Fourche. Interment followed at 3:00 pm at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Military Honors by the Army Honor Guard.
