Daniel Carrisales Prado, 84 entered eternal rest on January 14, 2024. He was born November 12, 1939 in Houston Texas to Nicholas and Maria Prado, who precede him in death along with his siblings Consuelo Stakes, Lawrence Prado, Dora Martinez, daughter Maria Prado, and grandsons Erik Castillo and Jacob Prado. He is survived by his children Patricia Hilton, Daniel Joseph Prado, Susan Prado-Garcia, Manuela(Nellie) Prado, Nikki Revils, Hector Prado, Christian Prado, and Mario Prado, siblings Arthur Prado, Nick Prado, Lupe Prado, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Daniel was a proud US Air Force veteran enlisting November 16, 1956 and attending basic training at Randolph AFB in San Antonio. He was stationed overseas, traveling throughout much of Europe until his honorable discharge May 31, 1960. He would devote his time to raising his family soon after his service. Daniel was a self-made business man and proud owner/operator of Prado Protective Coatings, Incorporated in Houston, Texas. His knowledge and expertise in the coatings industry earned him the respect of his colleagues as well as local competitors. He specialized in the consultation and application of multi coat systems for the marine and offshore industry, beginning one of the first coating companies in the city of Houston, Texas and pioneering many of the first coating systems ever used in the industry. He worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2004. He would remark that Prado Protective Coatings was his proudest accomplishment.

Daniel throughout his life was also an avid sports fan, proudly supporting the Houston Oilers, Texans, Rockets, and Astros. He endured both the agony and ecstasy inherent supporting Houston sports. His perseverance however afforded him the reward of witnessing 2 of 3 Houston franchises earn world championships in his lifetime.

Daniel remained industrious throughout his retirement years assuming both household and computer-related repair projects in order to remain both active and productive, qualities he regarded critical to sustaining his purpose and quality of life. Chronic illness in his later years would diminish his capacities, but he was undeterred in his hope for better days and his will to live remained intact. His final request to his beloved family in his final days was to remember him always.

"My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26

Dad, it is with sorrow that we bid you farewell, but with all humility we give thanks to GOD for the gift that was your life. Love always until we are together again – Your children

Thank you for everything dad. I love you so much. I'll keep doing what's right by our family. I'm sorry I cut your rose bushes or whatever they were. I'll miss you everyday.
