Daniel Pursifull Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buchanan Funeral Service on Mar. 11, 2026.
The family of Daniel Pursifull would like to extend an invitation to his family and friends to participate in

the celebration of his life on Friday, February 13, at 11:00 am, for a graveside ceremony at Blackburn

Cemetery in Norman, OK.

Daniel Allen Pursifull, 70, passed away February 9, 2026, at home in Oklahoma City, OK. He was

born on January 25, 1956 in Frankfort, IN, to Gerald and Mavis (Dubree) Pursifull. Dan graduated

High School in Frankfort, the home of the Hot Dogs, where he joined the water diving team and

won State. After a Bachelors Degree from Central Missouri State University in Athletics, minoring

in Math (was on the diving team), Dan moved with his college roommate to Oklahoma City.

Dan and his college roommate lived together for 35 years. Dan was an avid sky diver and has 301

sky dives under his belt. Dan worked for Aaron's Rental and a Laundromat in Bethany, OK, for

several years. While at the Laundromat, Dan became a beacon of light to the customers by taking

the time out of his busy day to pray for them. In fact, people would come to the Laundromat even if

they didn't have anything to wash just for Dan's prayers.

In 1996, Dan's future wife, Donna Foster Stringer, came to his Laundromat with her daughter and

first grandson to wash their laundry. Dan and Donna became friends and eventually decided to

begin dating. Two weeks shy of seven (7) years later, they were married on October 18, 2004,

beautiful Fall day and honeymooned in the mountains of Tennessee.

During the dating years, Dan, his roommate Tim, Donna and Linda (a friend they met while in the

Pro-Life Movement) spent hours searching for and traveling the US to find rare Precious Moments

vinyl dolls in mint condition. Tim and Dan accumulated over 300 dolls and kept them for future

revenue, although it wasn't just a venture but an adventure.

Dan loved to laugh, was kind, gentle, very loyal and had a great voice (at least his wife thought so).

He first asked Jesus into his heart as a child and later became serious about Jesus after moving to

OKC. He loved to "reason" with people about Jesus Christ, although it sounded more like a debate.

He prayed to God every day, read his Bible and loved to share Jesus with everyone. His greatest

asset was hugging humans.

At the time of his death, Dan worked for Flowerama in Warr Acres, OK, for five years. He loved

bringing smiles to faces!

Dan did not have any biological children but was a great step-dad and step-grandad to his wife's

children and grandchildren. Dan was preceded in death by his dad, Gerald Pursifull, his dear friend

Tim Willoughby, and two step-granddaughters. Dan is survived by his 94-year old mother, Mavis

Pursifull, and two younger sisters, Kathy Alexander (Brian Alexander) and Carol Highley (David

Highley), along with two nephews and three nieces, Corey, Kevin, Samantha, Kendra and Brandon

and a great nephew. He also leaves behind his wife, Donna Pursifull, of 22 years, step-son Bradley

Stringer, and step-daughter Hollie White and Donna's eight grandchildren and one great grandson.

Viewing will be Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Crawford Buchanan Funeral Home, 8712 N.

Council Rd., OKC from 3-8 PM (family will be present from 6-8 PM).

In lieu of flowers, Dan would've appreciated donations to the Fellowships of Christians and Jews: https://help.ifcj.org/donate/139?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=sitelink&utm_campaign=ecom&utm_content=donate-today&s_subsrc=EWX2501XXXXFB&b_campaign=ECOM%20%7C%20SRCH%20%7C%20BR%20%7C%20Smart%20(D)-G1484062754&b_campaignid=506022000&b_adgroup=EXACT%20Brand&b_adgroupid=1262240338187570&b_adid=78890162251019&b_term=international%20fellowship%20of%20christians%20and%20jews&b_termid=kwd-78890545188602:loc-190&b_isproduct=&b_productid=&msclkid=cd0dd379c16c10047c21baf51a1142e7&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=ECOM%20%7C%20SRCH%20%7C%20BR%20%7C%20Smart%20(D)-G1484062754&utm_term=international%20fellowship%20of%20christians%20and%20jews&utm_content=EXACT%20Brand
