Obituary of Daniel Ward Rindahl
Daniel Ward Rindahl, 63, of Hermantown, Minnesota, passed away on September 1, 2024, at Essentia Health after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and, more recently, lung cancer. Born on February 8, 1961. Dan graduated from Hermantown High School, Class of 1979.
Dan proudly served in the United States Air Force, a testament to his deep love for his country. Dan was a skilled machinist by trade and the proud owner of R&R Sand and Gravel, from which he retired after his many years of dedicated work.
His lifelong passion for the outdoors was reflected in his adventurous spirit, and had a particular love for Steelhead fishing with his lifelong friends. Dan was often described as an avid conservationist and nature enthusiast. He took immense pride in turning his family plot of wooded land into a beautiful home where family and friends could gather to create lasting memories. Dan also had a deep appreciation for classic muscle cars but basically anything with four wheels. Dan's love for food was well-known; if there was food involved, Dan was a happy man.
Dan's commitment to his family, friends, and community was evident throughout his life and will be remembered as hardworking, generous, and fiercely devoted to those that he loved. He is survived by his family and a close-knit circle of friends who were an integral part of his life. Dan would be disappointed if Nellie better known as "Pinky" his companion/comfort dog was not mentioned.
Dan will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Dan's life and the many ways he touched the hearts of those around him. A celebration of life gathering will be at Dans home, September 8th 2024 at 2pm.
