Daniel Sanchez, 77, passed away on March 17, 2023, in Bakersfield, CA
He was born on September 21, 1945, in Bakersfield, CA to Joe O. Sanchez and Adela Sanchez. Preceded in death by his dad, mom, brother, and sister.
Danny grew up in Bakersfield, CA. He attended many local schools and East Bakersfield High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. He worked at the Central Cotton warehouse for several years before finally working in construction as a heavy equipment operator.
Danny married Phyllis in March 1970 in Reno, NV. They were happily married for 53 years. He enjoyed camping trips with family and friends at "Sliding Rock".
Danny is survived by his spouse Phyllis; his son AJ Sanchez; his daughter Stephanie Castillo; his 6 sisters; and 1 brother. His 10 grandchildren;2 great grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Danny lived his life to the fullest every day. Always leaving an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. He loved everyone unconditionally and was well loved and respected by all those he met. He was a great mentor to all. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, which he loved so much. Family meant a lot to him and told people to love one another and tell them you love them every day. He always did things his way.
Most of all, he knew how to be cool, and remember "I told you and I told you"?
With great sadness, his life ended all too soon, leaving his family with a loss that may never heal. This memorial fund is designed to help lessen the financial stress Daniel's family is experiencing as they grieve the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.. Your generous support is greatly appreciated at a time when the family needs it the most. They were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service and are reaching out to the community during this difficult time. His family would like to give him the funeral service he deserves, to honor him and to say their last goodbyes. If you would like to make a donation please click here.
