Daniel Timothy Schlegel

Daniel Timothy Schlegel was born on January 30, 1985 in Detroit Michigan to Dr. H. Bernhard (Berny) Schlegel and his wife Waldraut (Wally) Wirth, and was the younger brother of Melissa Eileen Schlegel Tarbet. He died on February 18, 2026 in Holland, Michigan. He was married to Sarah (Prince) Schlegel on June 16, 2012 and they are the proud parents of Julie, Kaylie, and Cody.

Dan will be remembered for so many things. He had a love for music, a beautiful singing voice, and mad D.J. skills. He will be remembered for his excellent steak and BBQ, and strong preferences for bacon, strawberries, cucumbers, watermelon, and adding cayenne to everything! He will be remembered for his fashion sense, his love of hats and obsession with his hair. Dan's beautiful smile lit up the room, and he gave the best hugs! He will be remembered for all those rainy-day movies, card games, and just being so perfectly silly. The dedicated service he gave in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout the years has touched many lives. He was a wonderful provider to his family. His family will cherish the memories of cuddling during movie nights, his funny faces, and him helping the kids go across the monkey bars. He will be remembered for being a father that loves his children and is so impressed with the wonderful humans they are. Dan is a beloved child of God and will be greatly missed by his family, his church family, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the The Holland Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1340 East 8th Street, Holland, MI 49423. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 27 at the Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland, MI 49423. Additionally there will be visiting at the church beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service on Saturday.
