Gerald E. "Jerry" Schlegel, Jr., 58, of Thompsontown, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on March 23, 1967 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is the son of the late Gerald E. Sr. and Joyce A. (Renninger) Schlegel.

On September 28, 1991, he married his surviving wife, Sabrina A. (Miller) Schlegel with whom he was blessed to share over 34 years of marriage before his passing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Alyssa J. Heikes and her husband Jared of Lemoyne and Kylie N. Phillips and her husband Connor of McAlisterville; four grandchildren, Everly J. Heikes, Camrynn L. Heikes, Hayden C. Heikes, and Cooper A. Phillips; one sister in law, Bobbi Apple and her husband Edward of Richfield; and two nieces, Taylor Apple and her fiance Brandon Pazos and Riley Apple.

Mr. Schlegel was a 1985 graduate of Juniata High School in Mifflintown and was a current long time employee of Rosewood Kitchens in Mifflintown.

Jerry enjoyed kayaking, fishing, and loved all kinds of racing including dirt track sprints, late models, NHRA drag racing and spending time with his racing family; however, he loved and cherished the time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Aaron Benner officiating. Interment will be private.

There will be no visitation prior to the Memorial Services on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Schlegel's memory to the York County Racing Club Injured Drivers Fund, 568 Yale St., York, PA 17403.
