Leon R Miller

Leon R. Miller, 96, of McAlisterville, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Mifflintown.

Born on May 5, 1929, in Richfield, Juniata County, he is the son of the late John W. and Alice M. (Swartz) Miller.

On June 28, 1958, he married his surviving wife, Betty (Haubert) Miller, with whom he was blessed to share over 67 years of marriage before his passing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard A. Miller and Glenn P. Miller making him the last of his generation.

Mr. Miller was a 1948 graduate of Freeburg High School and honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Leon was employed and retired as an Inspector with Yorktowne Cabinetry in Mifflinburg, where he had served for over 30 years.

His memberships included the Richfield Community Church; had previously served as an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts Troop #61 in Richfield and had also served as a Merit Badge Counselor; and was a former member of the Crawford Brubaker VFW Post #5863 in Mifflintown.

In earlier life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Richfield Community Church, 149 Church Street, Richfield with Pastor Brian Myfelt and Pastor Daniel Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Richfield Union Cemetery where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the church.
