Daniel P. Seguin, 72, of Halfmoon, NY, passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2025. Born in Cohoes, to the late Clifford J. Seguin and Norma Bryans. Dan was a beloved father, grandfather, and soon to be great-grandfather, whose life was defined by love, laughter, and kindness.

For most of his life, Dan worked as a mechanic - a trade that reflected his skill, patience, and determination. Later, he became the proud owner/operator of DPS Towing, where he built not just a business, but a reputation for his skill and his willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness and generosity over the years was felt by many.

Before retiring in 2021, Dan became a proud car owner and pit crew member of the DPS Racing Team, spending his Friday nights at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, sharing his love of cars and enthusiasm for racing alongside his son, Danny.

Outside of work, Dan found joy on the open road, riding his Harley, spending time hunting, something he shared with his father and eventually his kids. Though he was a quiet man by nature, he had a playful spirit and a great sense of humor, always ready with a joke and bringing laughter to those around. His unique personality and warm heart made him truly one of a kind - someone whose absence will be deeply felt and whose memory will be forever cherished.

Above all, family was his greatest pride and meant everything to him. He leaves behind his children Danielle (Nick) Sinkevich, Daniel Seguin II and Angel Seguin; his grandchildren Hunter Agnew, Kayla Seguin, Alex Sinkevich and Diana Sinkevich; and the joy of knowing his first great-grandson is on the way. His love, kindness, strength, and guidance will live on in their hearts and through them forever.

Dan is also survived by his brothers Clifford J. (Phyllis) Seguin Jr. and George Seguin, along with many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Dan will be remembered as hardworking, generous, and fun-loving, a man who had a full and meaningful life, a man who lived life on his own terms and made the world brighter simply by being in it. His family and friends can take comfort in knowing he is at peace, riding free and watching over them always.

Services (casual attire) will be held on Wednesday August 27th, 2025, from 4 - 7pm at Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY, followed by a gathering at the West Crescent Firehouse.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to W.K. Mansfield Hose Company (West Crescent Firehouse) or DPS Racing Team in his honor.

I am sorry to hear of your passing. You helped me out many times with your mechanical skills. The Seguin family has been an extended family of ours for many years. Ride high my friend.

I'll miss our talks at the race track and your silly jokes. I loved seeing how proud you were when your son Dan would race. You were best friends. Watching you joke and laugh around your grandkids was a beautiful thing to see. Rest easy and Ride in peace..
