Daniel McGill Self

FORT WORTH - Daniel McGill Self, 77, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 26, 2023. Services will be Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 4 pm, at Light of the World Church with Dr. Greg Beutel officiating. The burial will be private and visitation will be 3 to 4 pm before the service.
Dan was born October 19, 1945 in Auburn, Alabama to John M Self and Louise (Blount) Self. He graduated from high school in Auburn, AL in 1964. Dan earned a degree from Auburn University in 1968. He was a corporate comptroller for 48 years holding may positions around the country as well as Germany. He was devoted to his family and his church. He was a member of Light of the World Church, where attended Sunday morning services as well as weekly men's bible study. He was an active member of the YMCA where he enjoyed a light work out but mostly the coffee and the conversation with his wonderful friends. Dan and his wife Linda enjoyed spending time traveling, eating out, movies and their love of history. He loved and took great pride in working in their yard.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Blount Self and a sister Rhonda Bardon.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Linda (Burkett) Self of Fort Worth, mother-in-law, Margie Cardwell, daughters, Christy Parcell and husband Shawn of Greer, SC, Natalie Merritt and husband Stephen of Auburn, AL, Annette Reznicek and husband Mark of Fort Worth, Melinda (MJ) Flynt of Fort Worth and Rachel Dicus and Kevin Tuck of Fort Worth, sister, Annetta Riley and husband Jimmy of Andalusia, AL, grandchildren, Joey Watkins and wife Jordanna, Kaylin Lamb and husband Kevin, Mackenzie Wintrick and husband Joe, Kendall Flynt, Briana and Matthew Parcell, Caleb, Spencer and Madison Merritt, great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jace Watkins and several nieces, nephews and special loved ones.
