Daniel Selfe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Crawfordville on Mar. 2, 2026.
Daniel Len Selfe, age 45, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida, after facing Spinal Desmoplastic Melanoma with remarkable courage and strength.

Daniel was born on April 1, 1980, in Tallahassee, Florida, Daniel was the beloved son of Brenda Marie Williamson Selfe and David Lee Selfe. He was a proud graduate of Wakulla High School, Class of 1999, where he was a member of the War Eagles football team, wearing jersey #81

Daniel was recently self-employed as a fencing technician and previously worked side-by-side with his father as a paint and body repair technician work he took pride in and approached with skill and dedication.

Outside of work, Daniel was most at home around a pool table. An avid billiards player, he was a member of the American Pool players Association (APA) Amateur Pool League in Leon and Wakulla Counties. The pool hall wasn't just a place to compete, it was where friendships were built, stories were told, and laughter echoed late into the night. He also loved group ATV trail riding with family and friends, always ready for the next ride and the camaraderie that came with it.

Daniel is survived by his devoted parents, Brenda and David Selfe of Crawfordville, Florida; his brother, James Selfe (Jenni) of Lucan, Minnesota; and his sister, Diane Selfe Maxwell (Danny) of Calvary, Georgia. He also leaves behind his cherished nephew Justin Harrison (Anna); nieces Megan Maxwell Smith (Ryan), Sara Maxwell (Bryceton), Madison Selfe Jorgensen (Coy), Makenzie Selfe (Hunter), and Mallory Selfe; four great-nephews and one great-niece; two aunts; and a host of cousins and dear family friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Daniel will be remembered for his determination, his competitive spirit, his love for family, and the quiet strength he showed throughout his illness. His life, though far too short, leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308, or to the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) to advance research and treatment for melanoma at www.curemelanoma.org/donate.

A celebration of life will be held at Zingales Billiard Room in Tallahassee, Florida, on March 28 to share stories and memories with family and friends.
