Daniel J. Sellitti, 67, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Born on August 8, 1957, in Weirton, he was a beloved son of Patsy and Patricia Starr Sellitti.
Dan graduated from Weir High School in 1975 and Marshall University in 1979, where he nurtured his love for learning and sharp wit. His career as a Pit Boss at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas was a testament to his keen mind, exceptional work ethic, and passion for numbers.
Above all, Dan found his greatest joy in spending time with his son, Danny P., whether watching sports together, traveling to visit him in West Virginia, Florida, or North Carolina, or cheering him on during games, these moments became some of the most cherished years of his life. A devoted beachgoer, Dan also treasured their shared trips to the coast.
Dan lived life to the fullest, embracing great food, vibrant friendships, and time spent by the pool. His charm, wit, and unwavering positivity left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He had a rare gift for making others feel welcomed and valued, teaching life's greatest lessons through his actions.
He deeply loved his family, maintaining close relationships with his ex-wife, siblings, nieces, and nephews. As a devoted brother, uncle, and father, he found immense joy in the connections that shaped his life.
Known for his kindness, intelligence, and genuine spirit, Dan was a beacon of love and respect. He lived with a positive mindset and a zest for life, always staying true to himself and inspiring those around him to do the same.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donna Lee Sellitti.
Left to cherish his memory with love are his son, Danny P. Sellitti of Raleigh, NC; his brother, Patsy (Pam) Sellitti of Pittsburgh, PA; and his sisters, Lynn Sellitti Bronowicz and Renee Sellitti, both of Weirton. He is also survived by his family, Marc and Sean Zakin of Las Vegas, and Dorothy Santini of Sacramento.
Friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, February 14, from 4–7 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street,
Weirton, WV, 26062.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15, at 10 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 229 California Ave.,
Weirton, WV, 26062.
Rev. Fr. Dennis R. Schuelkens Jr. will preside.
Burial will follow immediately at St. Paul's Cemetery.
