Daniel Sievert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. - Newfane on Jul. 31, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel W. Sievert, 71,
beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and community stalwart. Dan passed
away peacefully on July 29 while surrounded by his loving family.
Dan was the devoted husband of Debra (Bucolo) for 35 wonderful years. His legacy
continues through his cherished daughters, Jillian Jones (Kyle), Megan Kadish (Corey),
and Nicole Burgio (Sam), as well as three grandchildren, Aubrey, Tatum, and Victor.
Dan was also a loving brother to Jim (Jan) and Lynn, with whom he shared many
cherished memories.
A native of Wilson, Dan's life was deeply rooted in the soil of Niagara County, where he
dedicated himself to the family business at Niagara and Lake View Orchards, producing
many of the Cherries, Peaches, and Apples found on the shelves of local grocery
stores. His commitment to agriculture extended beyond his own farm, however, as he
often made the journey to Albany or Washington, D.C. to advocate on behalf of fellow
farmers while serving as a director on numerous boards.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dan had a rich array of personal interests. He was
an avid fan of The Beach Boys, often playing their tunes in one of the many Corvettes
he owned over the years. That love of fast cars extended beyond his own, as he was a
fixture at Ransomville Speedway, sponsoring numerous local entrants and watching the
legendary Dirt Rocket.
Every morning, Dan could be found at Bill's Diner in Newfane, and later at the Red Fox
Diner in Lighthouse Point, FL, where he and Deb spent their winters. No matter where
he enjoyed his daily coffee, though, fellow patrons were always welcomed with a warm
smile and, occasionally, his plans to purchase another John Deere tractor.
Dan's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to his family and community will
be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved
him.
Friends and family may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main
Street, Newfane, on Tuesday, August 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at
the funeral home on Wednesday, August 7, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family
kindly requests donations be made to Hospice of Orleans.
