Daniel R. Truax

MASSENA – Daniel R. Truax, 60, of Orchard Road, tragically passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 in Massena.
Dan was born on September 27, 1964 in Massena, the son of the late Stephen Frank Toth and the late Beatrice (Mossow) Truax. He attended St. Lawrence Central School graduating in 1983. A marriage to Jolene Dupree, blessed him with two children before their marriage ended.
Dan worked for a time at Slavin's Furniture and A-1 TV before starting his career at Reynolds Metals and later transferring to Alcoa. Most recently he was working at the Donaldson Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. Dan had a great love for hunting, boating, his camp, yardwork, vegetable gardening, and riding around in his prized Corvette.
Dan is survived by his fiancé, DeeDee Reynolds of Massena; his children, Kayla and Zachary Boswell of Syracuse and Connor Truax of Massena; his grandson, Aaden Boswell; DeeDee's children, Mackenzie Reynolds and Craig Reynolds and his companion Joe Madden, all of Wisconsin; his sister, Tammy (Jimmy) Ryan of Brasher Falls; his brothers, Terry "Twig" Truax (Cathy Woodward) of Brasher Falls and Jeff Truax (Kris Whitcomb) of Massena; his sister-in-laws, Michelle Truax and Sheri Truax; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father and mother, he was predeceased by his brothers, Rodney and Tony Truax.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, 100 N. Main Street, Massena, where friends may call on Tuesday 4-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Massena. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Massena.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Donaldson Funeral Home, which will be directed to an appropriate charity selected by the family at a later time.
