Daniel Utley

Daniel E. Utley, 58, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. He was born July 15, 1965 in Evansville to the late Jerry Alice (Pickens) and Roger F. Utley, Sr.
Danny was well-loved by all who knew him. He graduated from Bosse High School in 1983 and attended the University of Southern Indiana. He served in the United States Navy during Desert Storm where he was Asst. Yeoman and fireman on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Some highlights of his Navy service include earning the National Defense Service Medal, Shellback Certificate and Second Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. Dan worked at METS for 12 years as a bus operator, a job he truly loved. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 215. Dan was a World War II enthusiast and avid reader of war history. He loved making model planes, ships, tanks and vehicles from that era. He was known for his keen sense of humor and sharp wit. Dan loved to cook and make meals for his family. He loved to take pictures of his cat, Pepe. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and loved to read. He was currently reading American Prometheus.
Dan is survived by his dedicated wife and partner of 21 years, Lana (Abel) Utley; daughter, Amelia; brothers, Roger (Lucia) Utley and Jamie Utley (Melissa Logsdon); sister, Teresa Tebeau; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. A Funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
