Daniel Walczuk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Woodbridge on Feb. 26, 2026.
Daniel "Dan" Walczuk, 68, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away surrounded by his family on

Sunday, February 22, 2026. Dan was born in 1957 to Leo Walczuk and Dolores Majewska

(Meyers), both the children of Polish immigrants, in Cleveland, Ohio. As the seventh of eight

children he joined the vibrant Walczuk family who relocated to Santa Monica, California when

he was a young child. Dan spent the remainder of his childhood residing across from the beach.

He graduated from Palisades High School in Pacific Palisades, CA, and subsequently earned a

Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Life Bible College in San Dimas, CA, becoming an

ordained pastor. Following his time as the head pastor of Gateway Foursquare Church, Dan

and his family briefly moved to Goffstown, NH, before establishing residence in northern

Virginia.

Dan, alongside his wife Melody Walczuk (Ruhe) and their four children, relocated to

Woodbridge, VA, in 1999. He dedicated nearly three decades to sales, working for companies

including Verizon and Navy Mutual. Dan was recognized for his exceptional performance at

Navy Mutual, where he was honored as Navy Mutual Employee of the Year. Outside of his

professional life, he maintained his commitment to ministry by volunteering at church and

remained an active member of his church community until the time of his passing.

Dan will be remembered for his distinctive humor, his love for cooking, his frequent enjoyment of

the film So I Married an Axe Murderer with his children, his fondness for the family cat Juliet,

and his deep commitment to connecting with people. He is survived by his wife of 44 years,

Melody, and their four children: Harmony (Sam) Vazquez, Heather Walczuk (Oliver), Hannah

(Jon) Butts, and Josiah (Amber) Walczuk, along with his six grandchildren. He is also survived

by his sisters Patricia and Kathleen and his brothers Lee, Dennis, Tom, Robert, and Tony, as

well as numerous nieces and nephews who were the only ones allowed to call him (Uncle)

Danny.

A celebration of life will be held over the summer, more details to follow.
