Joseph Samuel Hamrick, 48, passed away Tuesday morning, January 30, 1990 in King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born September 1, 1941 at Monterey, a son of Warren T. and Lucy R. (Varner) Hamrick.
He was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church and had worked for Augusta Lumber Corp. for a number of years.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce M. Hamrick of Staunton; threes sons, Ray Oscar of Washington, DC, Timothy Wayne and Robert Wayne Hamrick of Staunton; four sisters, Mary Sutton of Swoope, Rella Simmons of Woodbridge, Ruby Hinkle of Blue Grass and Odel Simmons of Harrisonburg; a brother, Junior Hamrick of Bridgewater; and one granddaughter.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by Dr. Robert Gue, Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lucky and Mike Simmons, Timmy Mitchell, Donnie Bolton, Joe Adkins, and Ricky Sipe.
the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Cancer Society, Monterey, Va. 24465.
