Daniel Wegman Obituary

Daniel Francis Wegman, 38, died November 8th peacefully at home with his parents in Sugar Grove, IL.

The second son of Carl and Mary Wegman, "Dan the Man", was born October 16th, 1985, in Geneva, IL.

He is survived by his parents Carl and Mary Wegman, his brothers Kyle Wegman (Summer) and Russell Wegman (Mikailah), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his nieces Lucy Wegman, Lennie Wegman and Zoey Wegman.

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert & Emma Wegman, Frank & Ione Ostendorf, His Uncles Paul Wegman & Christopher Wegman.

The highlights in Daniel's life were in the form of being understood in his unique style of communication, shaving with Dad, making popcorn with Mom, doing his puzzles, laughter, affection, and unconditional love. His joys in life were very pure and simple with no ego involved. Daniel, and special individuals like him, have a sacred role to play during their lifetimes, influencing our values and stretching our abilities to love so much greater. His brothers thoughtfully stated that Daniel defined who we are as a family, what make us all feel special and unique.

It has been our privilege to love and care for Daniel. He is now in the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father experiencing peace and joy like he's never known or imagined. Well done, Daniel. You taught us so much. Your family will forever cherish our sweet memories with you and be grateful that the Lord chose us to be your family during this brief stay.

On Daniel's behalf, we would like to express our deepest appreciation to two very beloved caregivers Marsha and Lanee. During Daniel's life at his group home (Individual Advocacy Group) they blessed him with their consistent love, nurturing and a very protective mothering nature that allowed Daniel to thrive, be himself and feel understood. We would also like to thank Eileen from Transitions Hospice for her above and beyond support during this final chapter in Daniel's life, she was truly a blessing and a tribute to her profession.

The family will be celebrating / honoring Daniel's life privately.
