DANIEL J. WHELAN JR. of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14th, 2026. He was 90 years of age. Born in Paulsboro, NJ, he is the son of the late Daniel J. and Amy Eleanora (nee Suplee Morrison) Whelan and has resided in Southampton for the past 20 years.

He is the Beloved Husband of 68 years to Leah J. (nee Shillings) Whelan and the Loving Father of Daniel Whelan III and his wife Sue of Medford, NJ, Glenn Whelan and his wife Jamie of Medford, NJ, Dianne Williams and her husband Jim of Bellmawr, NJ and Dawn Stafford and her husband Chris of Atco, NJ. He is also survived by his sister Carol Greene of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and his 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and his precious best fur baby Teddy. He is predeceased by his brother Robert Whelan.

Daniel was a Project Engineer and worked for Ivymont Construction in Audubon, NJ for 43 years. He was raised in Camden, NJ, attended Woodrow Wilson (class of 1954) being a standout player on their baseball team (Cramer Hill Gang/Hot Stovers). He later resided in Pennsauken and Medford. He was a lifetime member of Square Circle Sportsmen Club in Gibbsboro, NJ, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of friends on the range. He was an avid deer hunter and golfer, spending many years hunting with his boys in Maine, Pennsy, and Kansas. In retirement, Dan and Leah enjoyed the life of snowbirds in sunny Florida for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, March 19th. 2026 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ, where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Parkview Cemetery @ Kirby's Mill in Medford, NJ.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family requests memorial donations to the Animal Orphanage, 419 Cooper Rd, Voorhees NJ 08043.
