Obituary:
Eddie was born May 20, 1953 in Willcox Arizona. In his early years he worked the local ranches and the Willcox Livestock Auction. After moving to California, he spent the last 35 years out on the cattle ranch living his dream. The true cowboy way.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 53 years Arlene (Burleson) Whelan and his daughters Kristine (Jimmy) Andrew and DeAnn Whelan (Anthony Franco). He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Ashley Creech, Bailey Creech, Wyatt Andrew, Shadea Minugh, Caden Andrew, Kailani Minugh, and Jaxon Whelan-Franco. As well as his 5 great grandchildren Evie Tenhet, Ava Tenhet, Samuel Butteris, Saylor Minugh-Mcnew, and Kamea Herrera. Eddie is also survived by his brothers William Whelan and Darrel Whelan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Aurelia Whelan and his sister Geraldine Henkel.
He was a true cowboy legend, a devoted husband, a dad, a papa, and a â\x80\x9cpapa ranch,â\x80\x9d who lived his dream life until his very last breath out on the ranch surrounded by his horse, his dogs, and his cattle.
