Daniel “Danny” Allen Willis, 69, of Beaufort, North Carolina, passed away at his home Monday, March 24, 2025.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, March 28th at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by The Rev. Ashley Simpson. The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Born on September 1, 1955, in Morehead City, North Carolina, Danny was the son of the late Mary Lillian Smith of Morehead City. He grew-up in the “Promise Land” section of Morehead City and spent countless hours in his youth fishing and enjoying the waters of the Crystal Coast.

Married for 34 years to Joy Knox Willis, they enjoyed various activities together including coaching local sports teams, NASCAR racing, and working on his vintage Mustang.

Although retired from Carteret-Craven Electric and Pepsi Co., Danny spent his retirement years outdoors working with his family’s landscaping and tree service overseeing crews and mentoring younger employees.

Danny is survived by his wife Joy, his son Adam Daniel Willis (Christian), a daughter from a previous marriage Toni Marie Willis, a stepson Jeremy Paul Turnage (Ellen), a sister, Mary Beasley of Elizabeth City, NC and five grandchildren Jordan, Junuh, Alex, Alyssa, and Ellie.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Crystal Coast Boots & Badge which supports local First Responders c/o 892 Hwy 70, Otway, NC 28516.
