Daniel L. Wineke Sr.

Daniel L. Wineke, Sr., of Westminster, MD, passed away at home on April 3, 2023, at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Barbara P. (Roloson) Wineke, together they shared 61 years of marriage; the loving father of Christine Bish and her husband David, Daniel L. Wineke, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Richard Wineke, and Cynthia Freed and her husband Al; the cherished grandfather of Aleigh Freed, Ben Bish, Brett Wineke, Bryan Wineke, Joshua Wineke and Matthew Wineke; and the dear brother of Michael Wineke, Patricia Bilz and Margaret Deavers. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Wineke and his parents, Joseph and Margaret (Rutters) Wineke.
Daniel grew up in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Calvert High School in 1959. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a machinist and then went on to own his own small business. Daniel enjoyed fishing, boating, home improvement projects and spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing in celebration of Daniel's life on Thursday, April 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, April 7th, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by his Funeral Service, 10:00 AM, at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown. Interment at Annunciation BVM Cemetery.
