Daniel Wong of Houston Texas, passed away August 6, 2024.
He was born in Canton, China on June 28, 1936.
He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957.
Daniel was in the restaurant business in Houston for over 50 years.
He owned the Ming Palace Restaurant, Pacific Ten Fathoms, Daniel Wong's Restaurant and Daniel Wong's Kitchen. Throughout the years his restaurants became the gathering place for many Houstonians.
Preceded in death by his wife, Jackie; son, David; son-in-law, Wansing.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Betty, Dennis (Cindy), Nancy and Mary.
Grandchildren, Donald (Melissa), Andrew, Faye and Maggie (Matthew). Great-grandchildren, Layla and Hailey.
A visitation for Daniel will be held Monday, August 19, from 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 7723 Beechnut, Houston, Texas 77074. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home. Burial will be on Tuesday, August 20, 2:15 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetary, 10410 Veterans Memorial, Houston, Texas 77038.

Danny and I became great friends as I lived around the corner from his last restaurant, Daniel Wong´s Kitchen. I ate there so often I practically became a fixture. I made crawfish etoufee for him to show that I could also cook. In return he cooked a ham for me and proudly told me he could "cook American". My great niece always enjoyed playing with his daughter, Mary when we were at his restaurant. Such a great guy that I remember with fondness.

Enjoyed meals at Ming Palace often. There was a picture of Mr. Wong by and airplane. Wonderful memory. May his memory be blessed.
