We are saddened to share the passing of our kind and loving brother and uncle, Daniel J. Yanez, on January 26th, 2026. Danny (67) was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1958 to Jose and Liria Yanez. He grew up in Clearfield and Layton, Utah with his parents and siblings. Danny graduated from Layton High School in 1976.
He had many skills, working in construction as well as supervising, HVAC, cement, painting, framing, and sheetrock. Danny enjoyed playing many sports, especially golf and riding his bike. He also liked camping, playing cards/dice, dancing, and loved being around his family and friends. He was a very giving person, always just a phone call away to lend a helping hand and the life of every family gathering. Every year he planted and tended to a vegetable garden, providing for the apartment complex where he lived.
In 2008, Danny married Pat Quintana. They had a loving relationship which Danny cherished, until her passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marta and her husband David, brother Kenny, and niece Shanel. He is survived by his brother Joe (Shauna) Yanez, brother Arthur (Irene) Yanez, sister Sally (Scott) McComb, sister Eneida (Nick) Martinez, brother Ladislao Yanez, sister Cathy Christensen, brother Jesse Yanez, sister Laurie Yanez, sister Debbie (Kyle) Jones, brother Larry Yanez, and many nieces and nephews.
His remains will be laid to rest near his parents and brother Kenny in Kaysville, Utah. The family will arrange a celebration of life at a later date.
Danny will be remembered as a fun, kind, loving, compassionate man. He will be deeply missed by so many friends and family. He is forever in our hearts.
