Daniel C. Yoder, age 84, of Sugarcreek, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Walnut Hills Retirement Home, following a period of declining health.
Daniel was a devoted husband, first to Mary A. Schlabach Yoder, who passed away in 2002 after a courageous battle with ALS. They shared many years together, raising a family and building a life centered on faith and love. In the years following her passing, Daniel found love again with Loretta Gerber Weaver Yoder, and they were blessed with 16 years of marriage. Loretta survives him, along with the three children he raised with Mary: Rebecca (Mike) Conn, Timothy (Jennifer) Yoder, and Elaine (Greg) Beach. His family grew to include ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to Daniel's life. His family included two step daughters, Teresa (Mike) Hershberger and Brenda (Dan) Beachy; 5 step grandchildren; and 6 step great grandchildren.
Daniel is also survived by his siblings: Katie Hershberger, Liz Vaughn, and Ervin (Pat) Yoder.
A hard worker and dedicated entrepreneur, Daniel founded Yoder Drilling and devoted his entire career to the business. His commitment to his work was matched only by his deep faith. A lifelong follower of Jesus, Daniel had a profound passion for missions and spreading the gospel, a mission he embraced with his whole heart.
Outside of work and his faith, Daniel cherished his family above all else. He loved traveling and spending time with his beloved Loretta, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Walnut Hills Retirement Home and LifeCare Hospice for their wonderful care and support during Daniel's final days.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11 AM at The Branch Church near Baltic with Pastor Marlin Beachy officiating. Private family burial will be held at Union Hill Cemetery prior to the Church service. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 PM at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
Memorials may be made in Daniel's memory to The Branch Church Mission Fund or to LifeCare Hospice 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Daniel's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will be remembered and celebrated by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Sincere Condolences to the entire Yoder family, Loretta, Becky, Tim and Elaine and your respective families. Warm memories of Dan from back in the day at Countryside Chapel and his participation in various missions activities. So glad that I was able to briefly visit with him in recent years at the church. He will indeed be missed and fondly remembered.
