Marlene J. Troyer, 91, of Walnut Creek passed away at Danbury Millersburg on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 following a period of declining health.

Born in Shanesville on September 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Naomi (Gerber) Stress. She married Robert D. Troyer on January 24, 1953. He passed on March 16, 2018.

Marlene was a homemaker, and a member of St. John's Church of Walnut Creek spending many years on the food committee. She participated in several card clubs and enjoyed playing canasta.

She is survived by daughter's Holly (Glen) Sutton of Tuscon, Arizona, and Jody (Jared) Miller-Menuez of Millersburg; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son Mark Troyer; son-in-law Matt Miller; sister Lillian (Dale) Smith; and brother Robert Stress.

Services for Marlene will be held at the St. John's Church in Walnut Creek on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jonathan Rider officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4-7 pm, and again on Saturday at the church from 10 - 11 am, one hour prior to the service.
