Joye Wanda Troyer was born to Guy and Lillian (Bodenhammer) Moss on January 20, 1933 at her grandparents Bibb's Farm East of Sun City. For a year her and her parents and brother, Edgar lived south of Medicine Lodge then they moved to Forest City Community, where she attended school until her 6th grade year then they moved to the Brooks Rance near Lake City. Joye graduated from Lake City High School in 1950. Joye worked at several jobs helping out family's in and around Lake City for 4 years.

In 1954, Joye moved to Medicine Lodge and worked for Carper's Drug Store. She met Carl Troyer and they were married on July 14, 1959 in Raton, New Mexico. They made their home in Medicine Lodge and to this union was born 2 sons, Richard Barry and Clay Guy and one daughter, Carla Faye Alfers.

Through the years Joye worked at Probst Pharmacy, Master's Café, Wright's Truck Stop, Drove dispatch for Gelco and Pony Express and her last job as cook for The Leisure Center. She retired from that job after 25 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Medicine Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, family dinners and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Moss; mother, Lillian Moss; husband, Carl Troyer; brothers, Edgar and Charles Moss; sisters in-law, Violet Moss, Veldeen Moss and Velda Troyer; brother in-law, Gene Troyer;; son, Barry Troyer; and nephew, Mark Troyer.

She is survived by her son, Clay (Sandy) Troyer of Stafford; daughter, Carla Alfers of Colwich; grandchildren, Lyndsey Joye Mott of Reno, Nevada, Willow Navarro (Donovan Kresyman) of Pratt, Carrie (Jeremy) Moon of Pratt; Anecia (Levi) Beaman of Stafford, BreAnna Meade of Pratt, Charity (Michael) Duft of Larned, Jamie (Jason) Jellison of Stafford, Terry Schmidt of Denver, Colorado and Corey Wenrich of Kansas City, Kansas; multiple great and great-great grandchildren; sisters in-law, Patricia (Bill) Naylor of Wichita and Loretta Moss of Salina; and 6 nieces and 1 nephew.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. with family present 5-7 at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln Medicine Lodge. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 900 N. Guffey St, Medicine Lodge. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Kiowa.
