Daniel Zieminski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornell Memorial Funeral Home on Jul. 16, 2024.
Daniel J. Zieminski, of Danbury, beloved husband of Stacey (Ruskouski) Zieminski, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, July 9th. He was born in Bridgeport on October 26, 1969, son of Dianne (Werner) Settani and the late Daniel Zieminski Sr.
Daniel was a graduate of Trumbull High School, Class of 1987. He worked as a network engineer 3 for the Lower Hudson regional information center at southern Westchester Boces. He loved his job and the team he worked with. Prior to that he worked at Charter communications in Newtown Ct. as a network engineer for 27 years.
Daniel was a self-taught piano player who loved music, and movies. He loved to bike, fly his kites and spend time with his Golden Retriever, August. It wasn't unusual for him,Stacey and August to take a two hour drive to check out a new burger place. The destination was important but many times the journey was the most fun! He also loved to read and learn anything new and share his knowledge with the people he loved.
In addition to his mother, Dianne Settani and his step father Gerald Settani and his wife, of 25 years, Stacey, he will be missed by his stepmother, Donna Zieminski; his father-in-law, Charles Ruskouski Sr. his in-laws, Holly Ghannam and her husband Rami Ghannam, Susanne Ruskouski, Charles Ruskouski Jr and his wife Kimberly Ruskouski; His Aunts and Uncles Patty and Dennis Levesque, and Gina and Michael Altieri, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He now joins his sister, Marianne Ciccaglione; and his best friends, Bill Lee Jr. and Eric Seigel, who predeceased him.
There will be a celebration of life open house gathering at our home on Saturday July 20th 1–5pm.

I feel fortunate to have worked and known Dan a bit in the last bunch of years working together. I have a large amount of memories, and stories and anecdotes because it always seemed like whenever Dan was around we were always laughing or doing something interesting. GIFs on the morning chat... August talking to us during remote meetings... "Hey, I gotta run", and then talking for another hour... But the things that I will always remember most is the spirit and generosity Dan shared with all of us. Dan was always generous with his time; whether it was a story about a bike ride, or Charter and other work related things, or even the new hot dog truck he found. And his spirit when rest of us would get down, or when any of us encountered a difficult customer, Dan´s spirit would always lift us up. Thanks Dan. For everything.

Dan and I often talked music. We enjoyed the same musicians and groups. I'll miss that

I first met Dan when I worked at Charter. He was a heck of a wonderful human being. I didn´t stay in touch too well after I left the company, but I know he meant a lot to the people he was closest to and is very dearly missed.
