Danielle N. Christenson

Danielle Nicole Christenson, 32, of Asheville, NC, passed away tragically on the evening of May 26, 2024, in Charleston, SC.
Affectionally known as "Dani" by her parents and family, she was born on July 3, 1991, in Annapolis, MD, to David and Denise Christenson.
Dani grew up in Annapolis and Edgewater, where she attended her last year of Elementary school and then Middle and High School. She graduated from South River High School in 2009 and Anne Arundel Community College in 2012.
Dani worked at Varuna Aveda Salon & Spa in Annapolis for three years as a Massage Therapist until she and Henry moved to Asheville, NC, in September 2015.
In Asheville, she started her own business, Soulistic Harmony Massage, and worked at the Spa at The Inn on the Biltmore Estate and Skyterra Wellness Retreat.
Dani most recently worked at Balsam Mountain Preserve in Sylva, NC, and she loved it there.
She loved the mountains, especially hiking to the falls and camping in the Pisgah Forest with her Henry.
Dani had varied interests, including traveling extensively, yoga, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and attending music festivals.
She loved animals, life, and everyone she met and had the most beautiful, compassionate spirit.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald Shaw, Sr., Gloria Shaw, and Theodore Christenson.
Dani is survived by the love of her life, Henry Houck of Asheville, NC, and their kitty Stella; her parents, David and Denise Christenson of Edgewater, MD; grandmother, Mary Christenson of Edgewater, MD; sisters, Tracy Gosse (Chris), and Christina Keiser (Brian); brother, Gregory Miseta (Samm); nieces, Madison and Charlotte Keiser, and Maygan Gosse; nephew, James Gosse; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Danielle's life on Thursday, June 6, at 12 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Interment private.
