Dannie Ray Hontz, 66, of Stover, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2025, at his home. He was born on November 19, 1958, in Warrensburg, Missouri, a son of Guy Jewell and Mary Lee (Cox) Hontz.

Grew up in Montserrat and attended school in Knob Noster. Dannie then went to work for Tommy Wilson hauling hay and scraping metal and later for Jerry Gemes pouring concrete. He also was a mechanic for Steve Elwell in Knob Noster. He then moved to Stover to be closer to his brother. Dannie enjoyed fishing and hunting mushrooms. His favorite fishing hole was The Lake at Knaus' Honey Farm.

He is survived by his sister, Victoria Lee Holloway of Stover, and several nieces and nephews.

Dannie was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Mary Hontz, a sister, Joyce Hontz, two brothers, Guy Wayne Hontz and Samuel Otis Hontz.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Payne Cemetery, Knob Noster. Memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of the Fox Funeral Home, PO Box 37, Cole Camp, MO 65325.
