Linda L. Hontz

Jefferson Township - Linda L. Hontz, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Saint Clare's Hospital in Denville. Born in Franklin to the late Donald and Gladys (Decker) Kautz, Linda had lived in Sussex County for most of her life. She had been employed as a department manager at Weis Supermarkets in Franklin before her retirement. Linda had a strong faith and attended various Bible studies in her community. Besides baking, she loved to spend time outside gardening and taking trips to the beach so her feet could be in the sand. Her pride and joy was spending time with her grandchildren and she especially liked watching wrestling events with them. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Philip W. Hontz in 2018; her grandson, Robert J. Hontz in 2017; her brother, Robert Kautz; and her sister, Diana Decker. She is survived by her two sons, John Hontz and his wife Sharon of Franklin and Gerald Hontz and his wife Sandra of Oak Ridge; her daughter, Jennifer Morgan of Sussex; her step-son, Mark Zellars of Montague; her sister, Barbara Kautz of Oak Ridge; hr grandchildren, Ashley, Kimberly, Tyler, George, Brielle, and Chase; and her three great grandchildren, Wheeler, Abilene, and Grayson. Friends can pay their respects to the family on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex.
