Danny C. Anderson, 69, of Amarillo, was welcomed into his eternal home by Jesus and many beloved family members on April 25, 2025. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28th, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia. A memorial service celebrating Danny’s life will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, with inurnment to follow at Llano Cemetery East.
Danny was born November 14, 1955, in Shamrock, Texas, to Horace and Nancy Flowers Anderson. He attended Caprock High School, and it was during those years that he began delivering pizzas — a simple job that would unknowingly shape the rest of his life. One summer day, he delivered a pizza to a 15-year-old Pamela Nichol, never knowing that she would one day become his wife. That delivery sparked a lifelong journey of love and partnership. Danny and Pam were married on June 14, 1976, and together they raised three children: Dee-Jay, Scott, and Kristal.
From an early age, Danny demonstrated an admirable work ethic. He began helping out at Flowers Texaco, his family’s business located at I-40 and Georgia, and later served as a retail manager at Coyote Corner, which eventually became part of Toot-N-Totum. He remained a dedicated and valued team member there for over twelve years, until health issues required him to retire.
Danny loved being outdoors, especially tending to his yard and rose bushes. He took pride in keeping a meticulous watering schedule, and even when his mobility declined, he made sure to get outside—if only to sit in the fresh air and watch the birds and squirrels.
More than anything, Danny was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, brother, and proud “Pampo.” He cherished time with his family, coaching his sons, doting on his daughter, and later spoiling his grandchildren. His deep love for his family was only rivaled by his lifelong loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys—win or lose, he remained their biggest fan.
Danny will be remembered for his selfless spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering acceptance of others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his second dad, Oran “Tootsie” Skinner; and his brother, Michael Anderson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Pam Anderson; sons Dee-Jay Anderson of Dumas and Nathan “Scott” Anderson and wife Jennifer of Rockwall; daughter Kristal Hodges and husband Justin of Amarillo; brother Lester Skinner of Amarillo; seven cherished grandchildren—Mason, Cayden, Avery, Jordyn, Alyssa, Brantley, and Ryker—and his faithful guard dog, Odie.
