Danny Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones Funeral Home - Burlington on Sep. 16, 2021.
Joseph Daniel Baker, III, "Danny", age 28, of Riley, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Danny was born May 12, 1993, in Quinter, KS, the son of JD and Janet Kendrick Baker. He spent his youth in Hoxie, KS, and graduated from Hoxie High School in 2011. He continued his education at Kansas State University and received a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy. He owned and operated Long Line Transport in Riley.
On December 2, 2017, he and Aubrea Laikin Burns were married at the Radiant Life Church in New Strawn, KS, where they are church members. They became the parents of a daughter, Haylen Charles, on February 23, 2021.
Danny loved all things outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and trap shooter. He was a nationally ranked trap shooter while in high school and continued to enjoy this sport. He was a friend to all and a champion of the "underdog". Even in death he helped others by being an organ donor. He loved his friends but mostly he loved his family. He was a loving husband to Aubrea and the "Best Dad" for his daughter, Haylen.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Linda Baker and Grant and Sandra Kendrick.
He leaves his wife, Aubrea; his daughter, Haylen; his parents, JD and Janet Baker of Milford, KS; two sisters, Amanda Hudson (Tracer) of Blue Hill, NE, and Katie Baker of Nashville, TN; a grandfather, Joe Baker, Sr. of Longmont, CO; his in-laws, Monique and Brandon Hart and Marvin Burns of Burlington, KS; brothers-in-law, McKinnon Burns, Cooper Hart, Easton Burns, and Elliott Burns; a nephew and niece, Ty and Maggie Hudson; many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Tuttle Creek State Park, 5800 River Pond RD A, Manhattan, KS 66502.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haylen Baker Education Fund and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
