Andrew Jay “Andy” Emch, 43, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home in Emporia.

He was born April 30, 1982, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of George and Janet Voorhees Emch. Andy attended Emporia High School and graduated with the Class of 2000. Andy enjoyed all sports and participated in Basketball, Football, Baseball and Golf while attending high school. He continued his love of golf throughout his life and enjoyed playing with friends and family whenever the opportunity would arise.

He attended Kansas State University for three years before transferring to Emporia State University. Andy earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and took a position with Wendling, Noe, Nelson, and Johnson LLC in Topeka. In 2011 Andy took on the accounting responsibilities for JOMA Bowling Company based out of Wichita.

Andy will live on through the lives and many memories of his parents, George and Janet Emch of Emporia; a brother, Brad Emch and wife Jen of Olathe; three nephews, Ryan, Tyler and Evan Emch; numerous extended families and a community of friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Mary Jane Emch and maternal grandparents, Robert and Edith Voorhees.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Madison or St. Jude’s's and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
