LAURA ANDERSON EMCH, 71, of Ashburn, VA, passed on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Lansdowne Heights Memory Care in Leesburg, VA.
Laura was born on August 1, 1953, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late Aaron Anderson and the late Carol Pflimlin Anderson.
She was employed as a legal secretary at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, a secretary at a number of engineering firms, and later as an engineering and medical transcriptionist.
She loved to travel and visited many countries in Europe, Africa, the South Pacific, and South America with her husband, Richard. She also visited Antarctica.
Laura leaves her family to cherish her memory including her husband Richard Lee Emch, Jr., her daughters, Jessica Emch Mouw and Karen Emch Herms; two sons-in-law, Ryan Mouw and Matthew Herms, and three grandchildren, Owen and Skyler Mouw, and Jonah Herms. She is also survived by her three brothers, Bruce, Ken and David Anderson. Laura was also preceded in death by her son, Jason Gregor Emch.
Memorial services will be held to celebrate Laura's life at 2:00 PM, on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel which is located at 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Three Roots International or to the Alzheimer's Association.
