ENOSBURGH - Wendell K. Emch Sr., age 83, passed away on August 24, 2025 at his home in Enosburgh.
He was born in Franklin on April 7, 1942 to the late Kenneth & Florence (Cabana) Emch. When he was three years old his mother passed away and he was raised by his second mother, Constance Emch.
In his younger years, he loved to dance, and found adventure in raccoon hunting and fishing, often recounting tales that brought smiles to those around him. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his dedication to his "hobby farm," where he raised horses, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and whatever other animals would come his way. Wendell took pride in his work, formerly owning A & W Construction, enjoying the satisfying labor of driving truck, operating equipment, and cutting wood.
Known for his good humor and spirited personality, Wendell was a frequent face at the West Enosburgh Country Store, often socializing with friends and neighbors for hours there. He was a proud supporter of his political beliefs, frequently expressing his admiration for President Donald Trump, igniting engaging conversations wherever he went, and watching his favorite programs on Fox News.
Wendell's greatest achievement was his family. He cherished watching his grandchildren grow, and celebrating their milestones.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Beverly Emch; children, Wendell Emch Jr. and his wife Dawn, Christina Churchill and her husband Mark, Florence Emch and her significant other Bobby Peters, and Matthew Emch; step-children, Tammy Burns, Ricky LaCross, Joey LaCross, and Jackie Ovitt; 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Arreta Boyd, Shirley Paradee, Jean Richard and her husband Bubby, and Joan Myott and her husband Allen; sister-in-law, Cathy Emch; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws; his best friend, David Clark; and his faithful four-legged companion, Myah. In addition to his parents, Wendell was predeceased by his siblings, Carol Greenwood, Ralph Emch, and Ruth Quintin and her husband Paul; brothers-in-law, Bruce Boyd, and Brad Paradee; and the mother of his children, Henriette Emch.
Friends & family are invited to Wendell's life celebration on Friday, August 29, 2025 to include visitation from 4-6:00 PM followed with a memorial service at 6:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls, VT.
