HIGHGATE - Scott Ryan "Pooch" Patterson finally succumbed to his 6 ½ year battle from a set of cancerous brain tumors on Sunday March 8th. Family and friends were bedside during his passing. Thanks to his girlfriend/caregiver Savannah Leclair, his brother Ryan Patterson, and his friends Kendra Garrison, Tyler Chagnon, Adam and Sarah Kane, and Travis Doe, for being there during his time on hospice.

Scott was born at Kerbs Medical (now NMC) to Stuart and Cynthia (Couture) Patterson on February 27, 1981.

Scott grew up as a typical boy in the 80s and 90s playing outside as often as possible with his brother and best friend Nick Boylan. Playing all types of sports and even creating his own competitions when bored. Bike riding, video games, fishing, sledding, snowboarding were among many things Scott loved to do as a kid. Teasing his sister seemed to be a daily goal. His greatest lifelong interest was farming. Going over to the Couture family farm was always the highlight of his day. He spent many times as a kid, and as an adult, pulling over and watching field work no matter where it was. Many memories were made at Nana and Papas camp on Carmi.

Scott carried on his love of farming after graduating from Richford High School by going to VTC and studying Agriculture Business. He then worked at Franklin Foods for a few years, then to Ben & Jerrys for 12+ years, then back to Franklin Foods in a Supervisor role, and he concluded his working career at Teknor Apex. He also spent many summers during his college years working at Blue Seal, which was somewhat of a family calling. Scott was a hard worker and made friends wherever he spent time. He loved keeping a nicely mowed lawn, listening to music and playing his guitar, spending time in his garage, and anything related to deer and turkey hunting. He also loved golfing, and cheering on his favorite team, the Montreal Canadiens, flying their flag at his house during the season.

Scott is survived by his parents, Stuart Patterson and his wife Audrey, and Cynthia Dunakin and her husband Alton. His children, Talyiah and Adilynn Patterson, and their mother, Kendra Garrison. His sister, Stacy Allen and her husband Alex, and their children, Isabella, Julia, and Veronica. His brother, Ryan Patterson. His step-siblings, Dean Perry, Shawna Dunakin, and Ashley Aderhold. Uncles and aunts, Steve & Cheryl Patterson, Laurie (Patterson) Baker, Debbie (Couture) Tipper, and Micheal Couture. Cousins, Dana, Holly, Kristi, Codie, Ethan, Becky, Annette, Sean, and Keisha.

Scott is predeceased by his grandparents, Wallace & Veronica Patterson, and Martin & Audrey Couture. His aunts and uncles, Lisa Patterson, Donald Couture, and Jimmy Tipper. Cousins, Howie Tipper and Keila Couture. Also, close family friends and neighbors, Norris & Carol Tillotson.

Friends & family are invited to Scott's life celebration to include visitation on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 5-8:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls, VT. A graveside funeral service will be held in the spring in Richford Center Cemetery.

For those who wish, contributions in Scott's memory may be made to the Franklin County Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478.
