Danny Earl Benson

Benson, NC: Mr. Danny Earl Benson, age 61, of Zacks Mill Road passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Piney Forest Health and Rehab in Danville, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held-2:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2024 at Crossroads Church in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Betts. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Angier. 

Mr. Benson was born on July 5, 1963 in Johnston County to the late William Earl and Barbara Ann Honeycutt Benson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Prior to retirement he was a heavy equipment salesman. Mr. Benson loved traveling to the beach, loved Benson and the community he was raised in, and enjoyed talking to people and cracking jokes. Christmas was his favorite time of year. More than anything else, he loved his family, especially his grandsons who he followed to every ballgame and event they had. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. 

Survivors include wife of 37 years, Marj Benson; daughters, Ashlyn Valdiviezo and husband, Junior and Mikayla Joyner and husband, James; grandsons, Christian Valdiviezo and Jason Valdiviezo; and sister, Beverly Lawhorn and husband, Charles.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at Crossroads Church.
